05.10 - Theory Class
Climate Collapse
This class was great to go through but it was a heavy subject. We stood with me the most was the conversation about our individual roles in climate collapse. Some students talked about their concerns and how they believe it is a big corporations role to fix it, others shared the things they do to help the planet and some people said that they do what they can to feel better about the impending doom.
We also spoke about the role of protests and how it relates to the climate but also social issues, and Jamal asked the group if they felt that protesting could be seen as exclusionary or only available for a select few. These disagreements this class were really insightful and we felt that many different views were presented. We found this class the best theory we’ve had because a lot of people talked and it was nice to “meet” the classmates.
